All the bad press about barista wrists relates to the weight of tampers but we are challenging this notion and giving you a tamper that weighs less than a third of our portafilter handle, starting at 192g with a timber handle. (our spouted PF is 654g)

For our coffee making process, we grab, lift and twist our portafilter handle at least 3 times more than our tamper so we are putting the odds back in your favour for barista longevity.

Still the first patented Big Base tamper with the largest surface area coverage within your basket. This design produces incredible results for extraction. We've tested it, you'll taste it! Don't be fooled by any copies!

With a diameter of 58.55mm (+/- 0.02mm), the BigStep performs at its best with Pullman precision 876 filtration baskets, however, can be used with other commercially available baskets with a reduced guarantee on performance due to inconsistent size parameters.

We make all our tampers in Australia from premium-grade materials, so you can be assured of the best quality, standard and service. 

Your tamper base is supplied with a 5mm aluminium spacer, please order additional sizes if you need extra adjustability.
